Guitarist hits Sweet spot at gastropub

GUITARIST and singer-songwriter Pete Lincoln was the frontman for Sailor and glam rock band Sweet, going on to join Smokie.

In 1989, Pete was the second musician to grace the Crooked Billet’s music night, after Marillion. The Newcastle-born musician has worked with artists including Sir Cliff Richard, Tina Turner, Shakin’ Stevens, Danni Minogue and S Club 7. He released his solo album, Soul Searching, in 2016.

Together with Mick Wilson of 10cc and Peter Howarth of the Hollies, he formed FRONTM3N to perform the classics. They released a studio album in 2018 and then a live CD and DVD two years later.

Pete returns to the gastropub in Newlands Lane, Stoke Row, on Tuesday, August 19 for an evening of hits, including Blockbuster, Ballroom Blitz and Living Next Door to Alice.

Tickets cost £35 as part of a music cover charge. For more information, call (01491) 681048 or visit www.thecrookedbillet.co.uk
