MAPLEDURHAM House and watermill are open to the public on Sundays and bank holidays ( not Easter ) from Easter until the end of October.
The house is Elizabethan and still lived in by the descendants of the original family, while the watermill is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
Many films and TV programmes have been filmed here - the most famous being The Eagle has Landed. Visitors may arrive by boat from nearby Caversham and we have lots of events throughout the year - details of which can be found on our website.
Our first event of 2016 will be “Mapledurham at War” on the weekend of April 16 and 17. A fantastic opportunity to see how life was during the Second World War, with both static displays and battle re-enactments. Definitely one for the whole family and not to be missed.
Discounted tickets are on sale from our website at www.mapledurham.co.uk
