HENLEY Tennis Club launched its summer season with a hugely successful evening of tennis, food and community spirit, as part of the LTA Play Your Way to Wimbledon initiative.

The event, held last Friday, welcomed more than 65 players, supporters and families for a mix of competitive tennis and socialising.

The Play Your Way to Wimbledon programme, delivered in partnership with the LTA, is the largest individual mass participation tennis competition in the UK, offering players across the country the opportunity to compete locally and potentially earn a place at the finals held on the iconic grass courts of Wimbledon.

Competitions ran across junior and adult categories, organised by club coach Tom Scott. Winners on the night included Sebastian (junior boys’ singles), Anna and Charlotte (women’s doubles), and Matt and Michael (men’s doubles).
