TWO courts at Wargrave Tennis Club have been resurfaced with artificial clay, which can be used in all-weather.
Contractors completed the work last Friday, in time for the start of the new season. The new surface provides a safer playing surface in wet and cold conditions.
It is also softer and more comfortable underfoot, helping to reduce playing injuries.
Eighty-five per cent of the club’s members had voted in favour of the new surface during a three-week consultation, held in February.
If demand to play on the new courts is high, the club’s organising committee has agreed to look into two more artificial clay courts in the next 12 to 24 months.
