HENLEY artist Sharon Yamamoto is returning to the Old Fire Station Gallery in Upper Market Place with an exhibition of her paintings, drawings and art tiles.
Entitled Love Stories, the show opens on Thursday (September 15) with a wine reception from 7pm to 8.30pm and runs until Tuesday, September 20.
The high-flying trapeze girl mounted on the wall of the gallery — and pictured right — is like the artist herself, hanging on yet not afraid.
At 68, Yamamoto has been making figurative pictures for years. They tell stories of love, faith and spiritual connection.
Her latest works can be seen for the first time at this show — some of which have travelled from her successful London exhibition.
Regular collectors will recognise the powerful figures painted in bold colours reminiscent of Paul Gauguin, William Blake and Marc Chagall.
