Public notices: Several temporary road closures across Slough and Datchet

12:40AM, Saturday 11 October 2025

Several temporary road closures across the Slough and Datchet areas appear in this week’s public notices.

The Royal Borough is intending to make an order to temporarily close part of Riding Court Road in Datchet from its junction with B470 London Road to its junction with Riding Court Business Park later this month.

The proposed order is to facilitate bridge expansion joint works and will be in place each night between 8pm and 6am from Monday, October 27 until Saturday, November 1.

The alternative route for those affected will be via the Ditton Road, A4 London Road, Langley roundabout, B470 Majors Farm Road and the B470 London Road.

In Slough, the council is proposing to make an order to temporarily close Shackleton Road, from its junction with Carrington Road to 34 Shackleton Road.

This is needed due to works that are or are proposed to be carried out on or near the road.

If made, it will come into force at 12.01am on Monday, November 17, with all works expected to be to be complete by 11.59pm on Friday, December 12.

There will be an alternative route available, with a local diversion sign at the location.

Elsewhere, Slough Borough Council (SBC) is also proposing to shut part of Station Road, between its junction with Burnham Lane and its junction with Stanhope Road in early January.

This is needed because works are or are proposed on or near the road.

If made, it will come into operation at 12.01am on Monday, January 5, with all works expected to be finished by 11.59pm on Friday, January 9.

An alternative route will be available, with a local diversion sign on site.

The council is also proposing to shut Dundee Road, with its junction of Banbury Avenue in March next year.

The proposed order is required because works are or are proposed to be conducted on or near the road.

If made, it will come into force at 12.01am on Monday, March 9, with all works expected to be compete by 11.59pm on Friday, 20 March.

An alternative route will be available, with local diversion signs at the location.
