Treasurer on fraud charge

A FORMER treasurer has been accused of taking more than £14,000 from a pre-school in Henley.

Lydia Connery, 31, of Thames Side, Henley, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday accused of one count of fraud by abuse of position.

It is alleged that Connery, obtained £14,552.67 by fraud while in working at Sacred Heart Pre-School in Greys Hill between December 5, 2019 and January 31, 2023.

She is also charged with one count of criminal damage after allegedly damaging a Skoda Kamiq in Henley on June 4 last year.

She is due to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday, March 20 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
