Shaking it up with energetic Shakespeare

A fast-paced improvised take on Shakespeare is coming to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday, June 26.

Shake It Up: The Improvised Shakespeare Show sees actors create an entirely new play live on stage, using Shakespearean language, live music and audience suggestions.

The show gives theatregoers the chance to pick a genre – Epic History, Romantic Comedy or Gruesome Tragedy – and even contribute their own Shakespearean line, which performers will have to deliver without seeing it in advance.

ShakeItUp Theatre launched the show in 2018 and has since performed more than 100 entirely unscripted plays, including appearances at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall, The Other Palace in London, and the Edinburgh Fringe. The company has also taken the show to international audiences in Italy, Poland and Germany.

The show is suitable for ages 11 and over.

Shake It Up: The Improvised Shakespeare Show will show at Norden Farm on Thursday, June 26 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £17.50.
