THE Upper Thames Rowing Club’s summer camps are once again returning by popular demand.
This year the camps will be running the week commencing July 25 and the week commencing August 1.
The camps enable the club to open its doors to allow juniors to try rowing in a safe and professional environment and to give them a taste of what rowing is all about and perhaps welcome them into our junior section.
We have fully trained young coaches whose aim is to make the juniors have fun as well as teaching them the technical aspect of the sport.
We cater for all, from absolute beginners to juniors who are already part of the rowing scene, who want to improve their technique or perhaps learn to row or scull in a different boat than they currently are trained in, such as single sculling or sweep oar rowing for older juniors. Upper Thames Rowing Club is on the Henley Royal Regatta stretch of the Thames, making it the ideal location for the camps, easily accessible by car, walking and cycling. The club is a 10-minute walk from Henley Bridge.
Each day the juniors will have at least two sessions on water in the morning and afternoon, as well as other fun activities, such as yoga and land-based training.
