Readers want to see Nando's move to Chapel Arches

Peri-peri chicken chain Nando's was the top choice among our readers to move into one of the vacant units at the new Chapel Arches development in Maidenhead town centre.

A whopping 1,733 votes were cast in our poll, which asked you to choose which shop or restaurant you want to see move into the development from a list of popular choices.

It followed the announcement that two units had been placed on the market for the Picturehouse and Chapel Wharf stages of the project, with 'several national chains' interested.

Nando's received 19.8 per cent of the votes, making it the most popular choice ahead of clothes shop Primark with 14.6 per cent.

Restaurant chain Bill's was next with 12.8 per cent, while 11.9 per cent of voters wanted to see an independent shop or restaurant.

Five Guys (8.8 per cent), Wagamama (7.4 per cent) and All Bar One (5.5 per cent) were next on the list.

No names have yet been confirmed for the development, but agent Kempton Carr Croft expects demand to be high.
