Repair delay

WORK to fix a sinkhole in Caversham has been delayed once again after a “secondary ground feature” was identified.

Part of Kidmore Road collapsed in January after a pipe burst and the road has been shut ever since.

In August Thames Water said a 15-week programme had begun and was to be completed by October 27.

But the utility company has said the secondary fault would lead to further delays, adding: “We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.”
