Chivers helps side gain narrow pro-am victory

THE team of Jeff Ellis, Martyn Metcalfe, Mark Bradley and professional Matthew Chivers won Henley Golf Club’s 41st pro-am tournament last Sunday with a score of 88 points.

The competition, sponsored by Hemani Ventures, attracted a record entry of 50 teams.

The close encounter saw just one point separate the top five teams, with the teams in second to fifth all gaining 87 points.

In second place was the team of Craig Breeze, Tom Campbell, Graham Spearpoint and professional John Stubbs, third was Richard Fenn, Dave Lawrence, Andy Pye, and professional Paul Gilbert, fourth Simon Lawson, Janet Lawson, Ray Crayton and professional Lewis Atkinson and fifth Tom Swiatek, Derek Tovey, Rollo Price and professional Callum Mackay. The winning professionals score was 64 (-6) shot by Matt Ford.

On Monday, Mark Bradley defended his Seniors Championship title as he won with a gross score of 69, seven shots ahead of runner-up Stephen Priouet. The net competition was won by octogenarian David Dickie who shot 63.
