Enjoy nature’s time to plan your garden this autumn

AUTUMN is the perfect time to refresh your garden. The warm, moist soil conditions provide the perfect planting environment to help roots establish, resulting in healthier plants.

You can add splashes of colour to your outdoor space now with autumn-flowering bedding plants. It is also time to plant bulbs for a garden bursting with beautiful flowers next spring.

Improve your soil with organic matter, such as compost, to retain moisture, suppress weeds and help your plants thrive.

The summer may have taken its toll on your lawn so autumn is also a wonderful time to give it some TLC. Rake up leaves and moss to prevent water logging and, if you can, use a lawn treatment and fix bare patches with seed.

Now is also the perfect time for planting fruit, both soft fruit (including raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries and rhubarb) and fruit trees (such as apples, pears, plums and cherries).

For inspiration and ideas, visit Stubbings Garden Centre to make the most of your garden this season. It is located just to the west side of Maidenhead off the A404M, five to 10 minutes from both the M4 and M40. They also deliver locally.
