Live updates: Maidenhead United vs Worthing

Maidenhead United 1, Worthing 0

United win their sixth league game in a row thanks to Dulson's first half strike!

90' Huge penalty shout for Worthing. Chukwu is through on goal and goes around Van Stappershoef. He looks to have brought him down but waves away the visitors appeals!

90' Popoola is replaced by Owen Cochrane.

90' Another chance for Barratt. He wins the ball back and drives a low shot just wide of the far post! 1-0

90' Seb Stacey saves Barratt's header at the far post from Popoola's cross. United could have finished this off then, 1-0

90' There will be a minimum of seven additional minutes for the Magpies to see out. 1-0

Robinson is also replaced by Miles Welch-Hayes for the Magpies.

89' RED CARD! Harry Ransom is sent off after another lunge into Corie Andrew close to the dugouts on the far side. Worthing down to 10 for the final few minutes.

Dulson is also replaced by Sam Barratt for Maidenhead

84' Worthing have made a couple more substitutions.

81' He's only just been brought on and he's scythed down by a pretty crude challenge. The Maidenhead bench are up and complaining and Alan Devonshire is shown a yellow card. I've rarely seen Devonshire so animated so it must have looked like a bad challenge. 1-0

80' Corie Andrews replaces Josh Umerah for Maidenhead. 1-0

78' Matt Burgess is replaced by Bailey Smith for Worthing. 1-0

75' Jack Spong is getting closer for Worthing. This time his effort from just outside the area is deflected just over the Magpies crossbar. 1-0

74'Babalola is replaced by Brad Dolighan for Worthing.

71' Matt Burgess is booked for diving after Van Stappershoef slides in on him in the box. If the Maidenhead keeper had caught him it would have been a penalty! It all stemmed from an underhit back pass from Clerima. 1-0

69' Substitution. Mitchell Lawson is replaced by Kai Yearn for the Magpies.

66' Break in play while Jayden Mitchell-Lawson receives treatment for an injury. 1-0

65' Concerted pressure from the visitors now. Teddy Jenks drags a shot just wide. It takes a slight deflection and runs out for a corner. 1-0

62' Worthing much more in this game now. They exchange passes well on the edge of the area and Nick Wheeler fires at goal but it's a comfortable save for Van Stappershoef. 1-0

59' CHANCE! Popoola does well to win the ball back. He feeds Dulson who drives into the box before firing just over the bar. 1-0

The Magpies had a 3 on 2 there and Dulson maybe should have played in Umerah or Mitchell-Lawson, but his attempt was a pretty good one.

56' Free kick opportunity for Worthing. De-Graft stands over the ball. He tries to bend it over the wall but gets too much on it and it flies over the bar. 1-0

Today's attendance: 1,109

54' Maidenhead's defence makes a hash of a clearance and Spong has another attempt which flashes just wide of the post. 1-0

49' Chance at the back post for Worthing's Jack Spong but he can't direct it on goal. Manages to get the ball back into the middle and Onariase is there to clear away. 1-0

48' Worthing have already had a shot, well off target in the early stages of the half. You suspect they'll be trying their luck with shots when they get the chance with this strong wind behind them. 1-0

46' Players are back out and Maidenhead kick this game back underway.

Maidenhead start the half well with Popoola whipping in a low cross that evades everyone in black and white. 1-0

Half-Time: Maidenhead United 1, Worthing 0

The hosts have been well on top, aided by the wind which has been at their backs in the first half. Liam Dulson's low strike separates the two sides at the interval but the  Magpies should have had one or two more, such was their dominance.

Clerima and Popoola both failed to take very decent chances.

40' Liam Dulson wins a free kick for Maidenhead to relieve some pressure. He's been a good summer signing so far. 1-0

37' United should be more than one goal ahead here. Worthing have been penned in for the most part. But they've just won a free kick on the left edge of the box after a tackle from Robinson. He received a yellow card for that. 1-0

33 Minutes in and Maidenhead have had complete and utter control in this game. Worthing have though just managed to sling in a couple of decent crosses that the Magpies defended pretty comfortably. 1-0

31' CHANCE! Another chance for the dominant hosts. Popoola whips in a lovely free kick from the right which Clerima looks certain to head home but his header bounces just wide of the post. 1-0

30' GOOD CHANCE! Clerima picks the ball up in the box after a lovely long ball. He pulls it back to Umerah who misses it but Popoola is following up to strike from inside the area, but Worthing manage to block the shot. 1-0

28' Worthing have responded well after falling behind. Creating their first moments of real danger for the Magpies back line. No real chances of note but they managed to stretch them. Worth remembering they're playing up the slope and against the wind though. Could change things in the second half, 1-0

24' Another decent opening for Maidenhead. Popoola with the chance and he catches the ball well but it's straight at Stacey who saves well! 1-0

22' GOAL MAIDENHEAD! Liam Dulson fires the Magpies in front with a powerful drive. Seb Stacey did his best to keep it out but could only parry the ball into the roof of the net. He ran onto a lovely lay off before skipping inside his man and driving home. 1-0

21' Free for Maidenhead central in front of the goal. Robinson pushes the ball for Dulson to strike it, but his effort is wild and quite a long way wide of the post. 0-0

19' CHANCE! Maidenhead work an opening on the right with Mitchell-Lawson bursting into the area, but Worthing get across to block his low shot. 0-0

18' This corner from Popoola catches the wind and flies straight out of play. Tricky conditions to deal with. 0-0

17' Maidenhead's Ragguette does well on the left to beat his man and force a corner. But it's lofted in too far for anyone in black and white. The hosts manage to force another corner though, 0-0

15' Popoola clips in another decent ball but it's out of reach of Clerima at the far post. 0-0

13' CHANCE! Umerah is played in by Kane Ferdinand  but he shoots wide of the mark with his left-foot. Decent opportunity for the Magpies, probably the best one we've had so far. 0-0

8' Back post header from Manny Onariase rises high over the cross bar. A few seconds later Popoola is shown a yellow for a late challenge. 0-0

5' Nice little sole role from Popoola to beat his man on the right and he sends in a cross that's just a little too high for the jumping Clerima. 0-0

3' First half opening for Maidenhead. They work the ball well down the left. Ragguette sends it in, Umerah lays it off and Robinson shoots, fairly tamely, at goal. Easy save for Seb Stacey. 0-0

1' The game gets underway at York Road. Maidenhead attacking with a blustery wind behind them and down the slope. 0-0

The teams are out at York Road. Maidenhead United in black and white with red socks, Worthing in all red with black socks.

This is Maidenhead's first league game at York Road for nearly a month. They've had a relatively light month all things considered, playing just four matches in all competitions. They won three of them, at Bath (4-0), home to Chelmsford (2-1) and away at Maidstone United (1-0). But they lost a key one in the FA Cup, at home to step 4 side Faversham Town 1-0.

The two teams have now retreated to their dressing rooms following their pre-match warm up routines

This is the Worthing team for today's clash.

It's wild at York Road today. Storm Amy is blowing her way through the region and will likely cause a bit of havoc for the players. Not so wet, but I wouldn't rule out a shower or two either.

Having had last weekend off due to their FA Cup exit, Maidenhead United boss Alan Devonshire hopes his side will be rested and refreshed for the visit of Worthing today. He knows they'll need to maintain their current form to stay with the frontrunners.

Today's team news is as follows - Josh Umerah returns to the starting line up for the Magpies. They've missed his presence up front in the last few matches:

Welcome to York Road where Maidenhead United will go in search of a sixth straight league win this afternoon against visitors Worthing.

Their blip in the FA Cup against Faversham Town aside, the Magpies have been in excellent form of late, winning their last five in a row in the National League South, with Matt Robinson's first half strike earning them all three points in their last outing at Maidstone United two weeks ago.

Worthing sit 11th in the table after an inconsistent start to the season. They also saw their manager Chris Agutter move on to National League side Sutton United on Thursday evening. Assistant Manager Dean Hammond will take charge of the team for the next three matches.

Worthing were beaten 1-0 by Tonbridge Angels in their last league match, but were comprehensive 3-0 winners over Wimborne Town in the FA Cup last weekend. They've also been relatively free scoring this season, scoring 10 in their last five matches, including five away to Dagenham & Redbridge in early September.
