In upsetting news for the woman inside the Mr Toad costume, the promotional pictures for a competition set up by Ace Places and the River & Rowing Museum (see page 2) took place on one of the hottest days of the year.

According to businesswoman Emma Sweet, owing to Mr Toad’s giant head, the actor inside the costume had to contend not just with the heat but was also struggling to see which way up to hold the cards during a “mock” game set up for the photo shoot.
