Harpsden-Greys WI

09:30AM, Monday 15 September 2025

WE have two meetings during the year when we don’t follow the usual format of inviting a speaker followed by tea.

One is in November, which is a sociable lunch as a forerunner to Christmas, and the other is the summer garden party which was held on August 13 at Harpsden Hall.

We are fortunate that we have a country outlook where we can position our chairs and tables for our meeting.

This year the afternoon started off fine and sunny and we were able to complete the quiz and game arranged by Susan and Mary before a short shower took us inside for the rest of the meeting and tea.

Our members provided delicious savoury and sweet dishes as well as a large bowl of strawberries and cream.

As our meeting drew to a close, Susan reminded everyone that our talk on September 10 will be informing us about “scams” by a police community support officer and that the Beechwood Group meeting organised by HOT (Henley-on-Thames) WI will be on October 3 at 7pm in the Sacred Heart Hall with a talk on food photography. The competition is a photograph on the subject of “My Dinner”.

We shall have the usual table of produce and books when members can make donations, which go towards our funds.

We would welcome visitors and we meet at 2.30pm on the second Wednesday of the month at Harpsden Hall.
