SINGERS helped raise £2,800 for the Shedquarters project in Peppard. Forty-six members of the Harmony choir and 15 children from Peppard Primary School sang at the War Memorial Hall for more than 100 people.
The choir sang Lullaby at Broadway, City of Stars and The Bare Necessities as well as Christmas songs such as Winter Wonderland and Ding Dong Merrily on High.
The Motley Crew, comprised of some men from the choir, sang Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and We Three Kings. The children sang Away in a Manger and I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. Barry Wood, a co-founder of Harmony, said: “It went fabulously.
We’ve never had so many people in that hall. We had a wonderful time and the children provided so much enjoyment. They were delightful.
We want to do this every year.” The proceeds will go towards a “shed” in the car park at the hall which will be a safe place for people to meet, chat and practise their skills in making, mending and creating things.
There was a raffle with items donated by the Unicorn pub, Sonning Common Garage, Brambles Florist and Laithwaites. Wilkins in Henley donated £1,200, Peppard Parish Council and Courtiers in Henley gave £300 each and £1,000 was raised by ticket sales with the rest coming from the raffle and donations
