To mark the Queen’s 90th birthday a special Shetland pony race was hosted at Royal Windsor Racecourse. The venue has reached a milestone of its own this year, celebrating 150 years of horseracing.
The launch of a new Cardio Wall at Manor Green School in Maidenhead was attended by London Irish star rugby player Tom Guest on Monday. The interactive fitness wall was built with a grant from the Wooden Spoon charity and The Shanly Foundation and will be used to develop students’ fitness, motivation and confidence.
Visitors were left ‘spellbound’ by Windsor-based magician Dean Leavy at the annual Alexander Devine Heaven Sent Ball on Friday. The event at Stoke Park raised £46,000 for the children’s hospice which is currently being built.
Organisers of the three-day Pinkneys Arms Beer Festival have said there was a ‘nice atmosphere’ at this year’s event which started on Friday. Visitors enjoyed tasting a showcase of 30 ales and listened to a range of music.
Visitors to the annual 1st Maidenhead Sea Scouts’ summer fair enjoyed a number of games and activities on Sunday. The group also launched its new fleet of bell boats.
More than £8,000 will be donated to a number of charities over the next few months following the success of this year’s Marlow May Fayre on Saturday.
The community spirit of the village shone through at the annual Old Windsor Scout and Guide May Fayre on Saturday. The £2,200 proceeds will be split between the guides and the scouts and spent on crafts and camping equipment.
