Historic Cookham pub The Ferry reopened after a major refurbishment towards the end of last month.

The pub, set within a grade II-listed building on the banks of the Thames, saw major changes is to 'the snug', the oldest part of the pub with wooden beams and a fireplace. It was previously used as a private function room, often booked only once a week.

The room has been reupholstered and fitted with new furniture, alongside a dartboard and a TV. It can still seat 25 guests for private dining but will now be available seven days a week.

The rest of the pub has also been remodelled. It now has four fireplaces across its different spaces, including entrance and bar areas.

The kitchen, led by head chef Sev Baj who has worked at The Ferry for more than 10 years, has also introduced a new menu alongside the refurbishment. It includes pub classics such as fish and chips, seasonal dishes and plant-based options.

The garden at the back has also received some love to update the 'dated' furniture that was there before:

The seating has been expanded, the umbrellas removed and bench seating added, alongside comfier furnishings with a 'cosy' feel, plus a larger awning also planned to make it more of a year-round space:
