A GROUP formed to clear up rubbish and carry out gardening work around Whitchurch will undertake its first project tomorrow (Saturday).

Make Our Whitchurch Special will be cleaning the area around the gate at St Mary the Virgin Church, off High Street, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

Volunteers are invited to help and are asked to bring a garden fork and gloves and to notify organiser Leslie Maynerd in advance on (0118) 984 5513.

The group reports to the parish council and its members include Councillor Jonathan Steward and his wife Lissie and chairman Keith Brooks.
