ST Mary’s School offers small class sizes, specialist French, music and drama teachers and regular outdoor trips for all the boys and girls in our kindergarten class.

Commonly known as reception, this year group are nurtured from the moment they join St Mary’s.

Each kindergarten pupil is paired up with a year six buddy to help them settle into school life, together sharing lunch and play times.

At St Mary’s we strongly believe that the formative years of a child’s education are ones of excitement, investigation and discovery.

We take the kindergarten class on weekly outdoor adventures, to parks, woodlands and nature reserves and see them thrive as they explore the world around them. Giving feedback, one parent wrote recently: “Thank you for taking our children on trips all the time. I don’t think the fun they had this first year at school can be equal to any other reception class all over the UK.”

The early years curriculum at St Mary’s is delivered with an emphasis on the children’s interests. There is a balance between the child learning alongside an adult and the child learning on their own.

Kindergarten is complete with an “outdoor classroom” where children can enjoy a broad choice of activities.

Every day is an open day at St Mary’s School. Book your personal tour by calling us on (01491) 573118 or emailing info@stmarys-henley.co.uk.
