GORING Free Church is urging residents to donate shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for children in crisis-hit countries.

Leaflets explaining more about the nationwide scheme, which is called Operation Christmas Child and is run by the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse, may be picked up at the church in High Street.

Filled boxes must be returned along with £3 to cover the transportation costs by November 5.
