THERE were close finishes in all three divisions of the latest weekend Stableford at Caversham Heath.

In Division 1 the first four players all finished with the same number of points with the first three all scoring identical tallies on the front and back nine.

Gareth Goodall claimed the top spot on countback from Andrew Parker, David Wise and Mike Capaldi, all with 38 points.

The top three all had 20 points on the front and 18 points on the back nine. Apart from a bogey on the 16th hole, Goodall also recorded five pars and a birdie in his closing holes. Parker had five bogeys on the back nine while Wise double bogeyed the last. Capaldi had the best front nine with 22 points, but could only muster 16 points on the way home. Division 2 winner was Christopher Korkoran with 43 points. Runner-up was Clive Adamson with 41 and third was Barry Reynolds with 40.

It was also very tight in Division 3 where Mark Russell emerged triumphant with 35 points. Gordon Berry was second with 34 and Jim McGiveron was third with 33.

Jack Russell took the Division 1 honours in the midweek Stableford with 37 points. Runner-up was Colin Stoute with 35 and third Mervyn Jones with 31.

Division 2 winner was Kjersti Cannon with 31 points. Second was Caroline Dover on countback from Peter Cannon, both with 30 points. However, a nil return on the last proved costly for Cannon.
