Developer supports centre

THE Benson Millstream Centre has received a £500 donation from property developer Bewley Homes.

The donation will support volunteers to offer companionship, home-cooked lunches and social activities to the elderly who may otherwise face isolation.

Emma Gallagher, who manages the centre, said: “We are so grateful for any support we receive and Bewley’s donation will help us continue to provide a warm and welcoming place for older people in our community.

“We are self-funded and have to raise more than £6,000 every year to offer this service to our community at a minimum cost to our customers.”

Bewley Homes is in the process of constructing 78 homes in Hale Road with construction expected to be complete in 2027.

Jo Dixon, marketing manager at Bewley Homes, said: “The Benson Millstream Centre is clearly a much-loved and vital resource for many people in the village and we are delighted to be able to support their incredible work.”
