A GRANT application towards the cost of solar panels for Lewknor village hall has been turned down.

The parish council had applied for £6,100 from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, half of the cost.

The council agreed to find other avenues for funding but, if needed, it could use money that it had earmarked for maintenance.

It was also agreed that the council begin getting quotes for new noticeboards in Postcombe and South Weston.
