Nativity and carol service

THE spirit of Christmas filled St Bartholomew’s Church in Nettlebed for its Nativity and carol service.

More than 150 people attended the service, which was led by priest-in-charge Rev Mark Ainsworth and featured a pony called Lindsay and a real baby as Jesus.

Churchwarden James Leach said: “We had so much wonderful support from the community, including our backroom volunteers, bakers, readers, bellringers, flower arrangers, singers and children playing Nativity roles.”

Fellow warden John Thompson said it was an opportunity for the community to come together, adding: “It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages and backgrounds enjoy the service.”
