Year seven and eight students at the Piggott School in Wargrave dressed up as their favourite literary characters, together with library staff and English teachers. The characters included Wally from Where’s Wally, the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. There was also a match the authors with their photos competition and during morning registrations students were told to “drop everything and read”. Money raised from the non-school uniform day and a cake sale was donated to Book Aid International.
