Members of Maidenhead Hockey Club have been doing their bit for those in need this Christmas by donating food items to Maidenhead Foodshare.

The club asked members to collect and bring in items currently required by the charity in a bid to support others in the community through what is often a costly and challenging period.

Helen Todd, Director, Maidenhead Hockey Club, said: “Maidenhead Foodshare provides such a vital service to our community so as a local hockey club, it seemed an obvious choice for us when we were deciding on a local charity to support.

“We would like to thank all of our members and their families for their generosity.”

All the food items donated are going to be delivered to Maidenhead Foodshare ready to be distributed to those who need them in the community.

In addition to its usual food staples, Foodshare has also put together a list of Christmas related items which it is seeking up to December 18.

They include:

W Supermarket gift vouchers £10 - £25

W Tinned fish and meat

W Tinned fruit

W Savory crackers

W Stuffing, gravy and pickles

W Bagged nuts and crisps

W Chocolates and sweets

W Sauces and tinned foods

W All Christmas food items.
