A long-standing manufacturer polythene bags and packaging welcomed Windsor MP Jack Rankin to their site in Colnbrook on Friday, September 5.

Imperial Polythene has been running for more than 30 years and has offices at the Lakeside Industrial Estate in Colnbrook, which comes under Mr Rankin’s constituency.

Taking a tour of the site, Mr Rankin learnt more about the end-to-end production process, from raw materials through to the finished product.

Imperial Polythene’s sustainability manager James Taylor also raised issues impacting UK manufacturers with Mr Rankin.

Some of these included sustainability, competitiveness, and investment.

Imperial Polythene’s trade body, the British Plastics Federation (BPF) was also in attendance.

James Taylor, sustainability manager, James Taylor, said: “It was a real privilege to host Jack Rankin MP at our facility.

“We are proud of our three decades of innovation and service, and we welcomed the chance to discuss both the opportunities and challenges facing our industry.

“This visit was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how our products are made and the value we bring to the UK economy.”
