A MAJOR funding boost has been received by Henley’s Kingwood Trust charity. A grant of £98,000 spread over three years has been awarded by the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. The trust’s chief executive, Mary McGuire, said: “Young people with autism and severe learning difficulties can have the greatest difficulty in making the transition from a structured environment to adulthood in the community.”

Catherine Bearder, the Lib-Dems’ prospective parliamentary candidate for Henley was snubbed at a major debate on Europe. Keith Vaz MP brought the “Your Britain, Your Europe” roadshow to Henley on Monday. Mr Vaz turned Ms Bearder away from the stage, saying the event was not a party political debate.
