Bear necessity

A TEDDY bear which was sent flying into the upper atmosphere for a science experiment is believed to have landed somewhere between Fawley and Earley, near Reading.

Pupils at Walhampton School, alongside the Southampton University Spaceflight Society, attached “Bradfield Bear” to a high-altitude weather balloon from Lymington, Hampshire, two weeks ago.

The teddy was supposed to parachute back down to earth with the balloon in the Basingstoke area but detached early due to a technical hitch.

Bradfield Bear is wearing a checked shirt, navy shorts and a bow tie. Anyone who finds him is urged to contact the school.
