Talent show at school fair

MORE than 150 people attended Shiplake Primary School’s summer fair.

Pupils performed for parents and carers in a talent show in a tent “arena” in Shiplake memorial hall field.

Year six pupils performed an Oompa Loompa dance inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while year three’s performed a rap. Other year groups performed dance routines and songs they had practised.

Other attractions a dog show, an exotic animal reptile tent with tortoises, lizards and insects, a barbecue, bottle tombola and tea and cake.

The fair was to raise money for new school equipment and to support the Little Squirrels Nursery at the school.

Sally Howland, secretary of the parents, teachers and friends association, said: “This event is to bring the community together and the school is a big part of that. It’s a really inclusive day.

“The weather was not great but we just get on with it and we just try and make the most of it. The kids love it and that’s really important.

“The highlight of the day was having an arena full of kids because the talent was hilarious and brilliant in equal measure.”
