A GROUP will be formed to establish the need for a youth club in Watlington.

The parish council has agreed to look at the demand and possible requirements.

The last club closed in July after failing to find a new committee. Several attempts have been made to revive the group.

Roger Beattie, who was acting chairman, said a new committee of five people had to be found.

Parish councillor Jo Read, who is the treasurer, said she had found enough people to form a committee but getting them together was a problem.

“It’s proving to be a nightmare to be honest,” she said. “We do have people waiting in the wings ready to step in.”

The club for children aged up to 14 used to meet at Watlington pavilion on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
