THE children at the River and Rowing Museum’s Taylor Tugs under-fives group wait excitedly for the activities to begin.
What will it be today? Making paper camels? Dingly-dangly scarecrows? Seahorse dot paintings?
The River and Rowing Museum loves welcoming children under five years old into its galleries for art, craft, songs and story time.
Every Wednesday afternoon during term time you can drop in to the Taylor Tugs playgroup for activities inspired by the museum’s permanent and visiting exhibitions.
There’s also a fantastic programme of family fun days, an activities cart packed full of games, learning activities, colouring books and crafts, and lots of children’s and young people’s events going on throughout the year. Don’t forget, admission tickets are valid for 12 months and give you entry to all the River and Rowing Museum’s fun-filled family days as well.
The Quince Tree have also recently taken over the café at the museum, offering baby- and toddler-friendly options throughout the day, as well as colouring and a big basket of children’s books to keep the little ones entertained while you enjoy a coffee and one of their delicious homemade cakes.
For more information on any of the above, please call the learning team at the River and Rowing Museum on (01491) 415605 or email edbookings@rrm.co.uk
