FATHER Christmas will make an appearance at the 11th annual festive fair in Watlington tomorrow (Saturday).

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the event in High Street between 10am and 2pm.

The fair is organised by Watlington Business Association to encourage residents to do their Christmas shopping locally.

There will be a record number of stalls, a food market, games and music from the Watlington Concert Band and other local groups as well as an indoor craft fair at the Watlington Club.

Father Christmas will arrive at his grotto on his sleigh, drawn by ponies Jellybean and Charlie, accompanied by the winners of the competition to draw and decorate a Christmas tree front cover for the Watlington Times.

Scouts, fire cadets and members of the junior football club and the youth club will be helping out on the day as well as manning their stalls.

The fair helps pay for the Christmas trees and lights in the town and the profits are donated to youth groups. Last year more than £800 was raised.
